Bradley fails in his appeal against 12-week ban

DERRY star Paddy Bradley has failed in his appeal against a 12 week ban.

Bradley took his case to the Ulster Council after failing to have the suspension overturned by the county board.

He was hit with the ban for minor interference with a referee in a club game last month.

The ace attacker will miss the Oak Leafers’ Ulster SFC first round clash with Antrim at Casement Park on June 3, and a potential semi-final against Cavan, Down or Monaghan on June 24.

But he will be eligible for either the first or second rounds of the Qualifiers on July 7 and July 14.

He will also be free to play in the Ulster final on July 15, should Derry make it through to the provincial decider.

Meanwhile Laois hurling manager Damien Fox must plan for this evening’s NHL promotion/relegation play off against Limerick without talismanic defender Brian Campion.

The Rathdowney/Errill clubman injured his shoulder during his side’s shock defeat to The Harps in the opening round of the Laois SHC last weekend.

Laois U21 football captain Cahir Healy will replace Campion in the full back line as the O’Moore County bid for promotion to Division 1.
