Lougheed powers Ballinora to victory

DESPITE the absence of Conor Brosnan with a hamstring injury, Ballinora still recorded a fine win over St Michael’s in the Evening Echo Premier IFC at Ballincollig on Saturday night due mainly to the excellence of substitute Eoin Lougheed.

St Michael’s, with Roy Downey and William Kennedy dominating midfield, got off to a promising start. But the introduction of Lougheed in the 13th minute put a different face on things.

With his first touch Lougheed levelled the game at 0-2 each at the end of the first quarter. Then two minutes later Ballinora pounced to score a peach of a goal when wing forward Alan O’Neill set up corner forward John Fitton.
