O’Neill strikes late for Omagh
Played in atrocious conditions with a gale force wind, this was a game where the elements played a big part.
St Macartan’s led at the break. But Omagh had the margin down to the minimum by the 18th minute with the Monaghan school then registering their only score of the second half to go two ahead, a lead they held until the fourth minute of injury-time. Derry referee Aidan McAlynn played another minute-and-a-half, during which time Omagh snatched their dramatic, if not controversial, winner.
