Revenge not an issue as focused Mayo bid to learn lesson of final failures

REVENGE will be very far from the minds of the Mayo footballers when they face Kerry in the Bank of Ireland SFC final on September 17.

They hope to put the lessons learned in losing to the Kingdom in the finals of 1997 and 2004 to good use in helping them in their preparations.

In the immediate aftermath of Sunday’s marvellous victory over Dublin, players and management held a brief meeting to plan their approach for the final.
