McGrath ‘collared’ for boxing bout
Event organiser Cathal O’Grady, a former professional boxer, said yesterday that McGrath, who won an All-Ireland medal with Cork in 1999, will team up other well-known sportsmen for the training programme and show.
White collar boxing, which invites non-boxers to “step out of the office and into the ring” is hugely popular in America and has been staged in Dublin and Galway. Participants must undertake a training programme involving at least three sessions a week in the ring, while organisers match fighters based on age, strength, fitness and experience. More participants will be announced closer to the event on October 26.
