Skipper Pat Mulcahy agrees that all the talk will be meaningless unless they can react positively and raise their standard. “We didn’t play well and we have to put our hands up and say we didn’t,’’ he comments.

“They got a few points after half time and came back into it. It was difficult. We were thankful to get away with a win. Certainly it won’t do against Waterford. We’ll have to up the performance and up the intensity.
