IT wasn’t all doom and gloom in the Kingdom yesterday despite the defeat of Jack O’Connor’s side in the Munster SFC final replay.
Bookie hit for six as punter nets €53,437

A lucky Kerry Boylesports customer scooped an incredible €53,437 with a €20 accumulator bet. The customer, who placed his bet in a Tralee shop in January, correctly predicted the outcome of six major sporting selections in 2006.

The ante post selections were that Munster would win the Heineken Cup at 13/2, Ireland would win the Triple Crown at 7/1, Dublin would win the Leinster SFC at 6/4 and that Cork (11/4), Armagh (11/8) and Mayo (evens) would win their respective provincial football titles.

The six selections amounted to 2670/1.

Paul Magee, spokesperson for Boylesports said: “This was a great bit of foresight by this customer, who showed patriotism in going for Munster to win the Heineken Cup and Ireland to win the Triple Crown.”
