Forde to appeal 12 week ban

WEXFORD’S Mattie Forde is to appeal a three-month suspension imposed on him by the Central Disciplinary Committee on Friday.

The former GPA Player of the Year was punished for stepping on the head of Offaly’s Shane Sullivan in the Leinster SFC semi-final three weeks ago.

Wexford secretary Mick Kinsella said the board supports the player.
