Geraghty and Barry to stay
As was the case with Sean Boylan for every year he was involved, Barry is operating under a one-season term and it will be the county’s clubs that decide whether he has a role to play in 2007.
But he wishes to have another term: “We have the makings of a good team so I would like to stay on for another year and have another crack at it but that’s in the hands of the clubs next September. We’ll have to wait and see what happens from there,” said Barry.
Geraghty’s declaration that he too would be hoping to play a part next term is equally reassuring for supporters.
Though he has been knocking around the county panel since the early 1990s, the Seneschalstown attacker was again his team’s most dangerous forward against their Leinster rivals.
“We have been playing very well in training and there are a lot of young lads coming up so there is a future there still. I’m not going to hang [the boots] up just yet. We’ll see what way it works out when we get back into training.”
