McConville glad to see back of record

OISIN McCONVILLE was being hard on himself. Very hard, in fact.

McConville glad to see back of record

There he was, just seconds after collecting his sixth Ulster medal and 90 minutes after becoming the highest scorer in the history of the province’s championship. All he could do was think about a missed shot here and a dropped pass there.

In fairness, he had a point. No forward likes to leave the field without a point from play to his name and McConville’s achievement in finally breaking Peter Canavan’s Ulster points total of 218 was little consolation.
