ULSTER officials are confident fans will not be forced to choose between their provincial football final, which has been set for Croke Park, and the World Cup final, both of which will be played on July 9.

The decision to fix the province’s showpiece for GAA HQ was taken on Sunday, shortly after Armagh defeated Fermanagh in their semi-final replay.

The game between Joe Kernan’s side and Donegal will have an afternoon throw-in while the game in Germany starts in the evening, but fans of both counties will be left with little time to return home for the soccer.
