JOHN CARROLL wants to look to the future. Minutes after losing the Munster Championship final to Cork, he remained confident that Tipperary can remain in the shake up for All-Ireland honours.

But only if lessons can be learned from yesterday’s decider. They will study the video in the coming days, look at the influence which the Cork half-backs exerted on the game, assess their own delivery systems and continue to believe in themselves.

Said Carroll: “I suppose on the day Cork were a bit more clever than us in the second half. In the first half we put in a lot of ball and it worked to our full-forward line’s advantage. In the second half, the wind actually worked against us. We didn’t get the right ball in and the Cork back line dominated.”
