Féile festival gets under way and gives young stars a chance to shine
The event, sponsored by Coca Cola since its inception, is an All-Ireland festival for boys and girls under 14 years old who will take part in hurling, camogie and handball competitions.
Páirc Uí Chaoimh will host four finals on Sunday, commencing at 10.30 am, while there are five finals in Páirc Uí Rinn, including the Division One of camogie and hurling, commencing at 10am.
In total 85 teams (hurling and camogie) will roll into Cork by 12 noon today.
Who are likely winners? It’s impossible to say. Cork’s Na Piarsaigh are one of the fancied teams to win the Division One title, but will face still opposition from St Judes (Dublin), Dicksboro (Kilkenny), Ballygunner (Waterford) and Durlas Og (Tipperary) and Athenry (Galway).
In camogie there will fierce competition for the Division One title. Holders Douglas (Cork) are chasing a hat-trick of wins, but will face stiff opposition from Inniscarra, Thurles (Tipperary), Thomastown (Kilkenny) and Naomh Jude (Dublin).
The festival gets underway this afternoon with the first round games commencing at 2pm. The parade will take place through the streets of the city starting at 7.30pm.

Tomorrow: Camogie: 10.30 a.m. second round; 12.30 p.m. third round; 1.45 p.m. Quarter-finals; 6.30 and 7.30 p.m. Two semi-finals.
Hurling: 10 a.m. second round; 11.45 a.m. and 12.30 p.m. third rounds; 3.30 p.m.
