McIntyre lost for words after big let down

“Just too disappointed,” was the best he could produce. And few could argue. You had to feel for big Mac; to those of us who were mere spectators, this was just another hour and a half of poor fare, a blip in our summer sporting landscape. But for the last year and a half, McIntyre has invested huge chunks of himself in this Offaly team and yesterday, apart from several honourable exceptions from midfield back, they let him down, let themselves down, let their whole county down.

Wexford weren’t a whole lot better. The difference in demeanour afterwards between McIntyre and his Wexford counterpart Seamus Murphy was down only to the result of the game.
