THE New York Board has still not given up hope that their senior hurlers will play Antrim in the Ulster championship final.

The game was due to have been played on Sunday last but was postponed when New York indicated that they were unable to travel.

The Antrim County Board subsequently rejected overtures from the New York officers to send their team to America in August after the Christy Ring Cup competition has been completed.

And, they have since endorsed the position that their club championship programme arranged for August and September could not be rescheduled.

However, New York Board president Seamus Dooley said yesterday that they would ‘continue to seek a suitable date’ to play the final.
