Laois banking on rejuvenated ‘Beano’

LAOIS selector Declan O’Loughlin is backing Brian ‘Beano’ McDonald to rediscover the form that made him one of the game’s most lethal forwards before he suffered a horror injury two seasons ago.

McDonald was in terrific form for Laois before breaking his leg in an appalling freak accident during the All-Ireland qualifier against Tyrone in 2004. He returned in last year’s championship but was clearly off the pace.
