Stylish Duhallow settle early and breeze past CIT

LEADING all the way, a stylish Duhallow side outclassed CIT 1-15 to 0-11 in the opening round of the Evening Echo Cork Co SFC at Mallow last night.

Only for one brief spell in the first-half, when they recovered from a disastrous start did CIT come to grips with Duhallows. But after the break, there was really only one side in it and the final result was a foregone conclusion long before the end of play.

Duhallow struck gold from the off. Donncha O’Connor pointed them into the lead after 40 seconds and then receiving from towering midfielder Seamus O’Sullivan, full-forward Niall Cronin rocketed home a goal. O’Connor followed with another point and Duhallow never looked back.
