Captains' strike warning

A GROWING number of hurling captains believe strike action would be justified if Séan Óg Ó hAilpín, Damien Fitzhenry and Paul Codd were suspended for displaying sponsorship on their hurleys.

Captains' strike warning

In a survey undertaken on the Off the Ball show on Newstalk 106 last night, eight of the nine skippers questioned, admitted that strike action would be justified if the players are suspended at tomorrow night's meeting of the GAC.

Paddy Power, the sponsor in question, last night withdrew from the campaign following last Sunday's fallout. But the players were fully entitled to their actions according to their intercounty colleagues.
