McGrane takes over the reins as Armagh captain

PAUL McGRANE has been appointed Armagh’s new senior football captain by manager Joe Kernan.

The 31-year-old accepted the honour at a meeting between the management and squad after All-Ireland, NFL and Ulster title-winning captain Kieran McGeeney stepped down.

“Everybody was very pleased for Paul. He’s been a loyal servant and it is great to have players like him and Kieran McGeeney staying on for next season,” said Kernan.
