CROKE PARK stadium director Peter McKenna yesterday rejected suggestions that thousands of supporters who had been left waiting before the hurling game had been in any danger.

Conceding that there had been "a lot of pressure" on the turnstiles (on the Hogan Stand), he rejected any suggestion people's lives were at risk.

"I would make the distinction between people being agitated and annoyed and being safe," he said.
