THE programme of events for Cork’s European Capital of Culture celebrations should have given more recognition to GAA according to a senior official in the city.

Donal O’Connor, long-serving Secretary of the City Division Board of the GAA, states in his report to this evening’s annual convention in Páirc Uí Chaoimh, that “a fantastic opportunity” was lost during the summer months to display the rich array of all the culture the city has to offer.
