ARDMORE clubman Declan Prendergast is the surprise omission from the Waterford team for Sunday’s National Hurling League final against Galway at the Gaelic Grounds.

Prendergast, whose younger brother Seamus has been selected to lead the attack, is the only change in personnel from the side that gained a meritorious draw against Tipperary to ensure a place in the decider.

However, the selectors have named the versatile "A.N. Other'' at left full-back, with the expectation that it will be filled by Eoin Murphy, who recently returned to action after an injury layoff.
