JUST one game in the permanent tsb Cork County SFC over the weekend where a superb opportunist goal by former inter-county player Pat Hegarty proved crucial as Carbery overcame Ballincollig 1-9 to 0-9 at Clonakilty.

The full-forward kicked his all-important goal a minute into the second-half which propelled Carbery into a two points lead.

JOY for Castletownbere, absolute heartbreak for Kiskeam in lovely Béal Áthan Ghaorthaidh on Saturday, the Beara men winning this Cork County IFC fourth round clash 2-7 to 0-11 with two goals in two first-half minutes.

KILLAVULLEN withstood a second-half rally by Valley Rovers for a 1-10 to 1-6 victory at Carrigadrohid to earn a quarter final place against Castletownbere.

The excellence of Cork Senior Noel O’Leary and a more consistent performance during the game, proved the decisive factors in Cill na Martra’s narrow 0-9 to 0-7 victory over Glenville at Ovens.

The success propels Cill na Martra into the quarter-finals for their first time.
