Dessie ‘badly shaken by incident’

MATTHEW SCARLETT, the Australian player who allegedly struck Dessie Dolan in the opening test of the Foster’s International Rules Series, may be suspended from Friday night’s decisive game in Melbourne.

An independent investigator interviewed the Westmeath player shortly after the Irish team arrived in the city last evening and he will also have discussions with Scarlett before presenting his evidence to a tribunal at the AFL headquarters tomorrow.

In a briefing with the Irish media last night, Irish manager John O'Keefe was quite firm in his view that the matter should be investigated.
