Irish take it on the chin

THE dust hadn’t even settled after the stormiest International Rules game in the short history of the series and Kevin Sheedy was talking about Australia “getting the sting” in Croke Park next year in retaliation for knocking Pete McGrath’s team off their stride in Telstra Dome.

Playing in Ireland, he accurately predicted, will be totally different.

"I know Ireland are not happy, and I understand that. I think Croke Park will be waiting for Australia to come and that is how it should be. Because, that is what competitive issues are all about between two sporting nations."
