Double delight for Rebels in awards

A RICHLY rewarding season for Cork GAA got even better yesterday with the announcement that Gemma O’Connor and Valerie Mulcahy had been named as Vodafone camogie and ladies’ football players of the year.

Double delight for Rebels in awards

This is the first time that players from the same county have been honoured in this award scheme, more recognition for an historic year when Cork won senior All-Irelands in both female codes.

The ‘Rebel Treble’ was achieved last month when the ladies’ footballers followed the successes of the senior hurlers and camogie team and captured the senior All-Ireland for the first time.
