A must win battle as old rivals Dublin and Galway bid to avoid relegation

IT’S a bit early in the season to be having regrets, but John O’Mahony and Tommy Lyons each realise that slip-ups along the way have proved costly in terms of Galway and Dublin progressing in the Allianz National Football League.

The end result is that neither side can realistically hope to make the knock-out stages. However, the fact they each need to win to avoid relegation ensures that tomorrow’s meeting in Parnell Park will be highly competitive.

The teams know each other quite well from regular meetings over the last few years and the counties also clashed in last season’s All-Ireland U-21 final in Portlaoise (under the same managements).
