Offaly five plead their innocence

FIVE former members of the Offaly hurling squad have angrily refuted claims by manager John McIntyre that they were axed from the panel for failing to attend training on Tuesday in Tullamore.

The five, Colm Cassidy, Paudie Mulhare, Conor Gath, Andrew McRedmond and Liam Bergin, issued a statement yesterday describing the comments made by McIntrye as “utterly untrue.”

The players stressed: “We had withdrawn our services prior to that night’s training session.
