LAST night’s Kerry convention in Tralee was noteworthy for the election of a new secretary and the first woman member of the executive.

Former referee and ex-PRO Eamonn O'Sullivan was the unanimous choice as secretary in succession to Tony O'Keeffe, who opted out after 17 years in the job following his appointment as principal of Tralee CBS.

Similarly, there was no contest for the position of coaching officer, which will be filled by Bernie Reen from the Rathmore club.
