Nemo set for tough battle

Yet, Nemo Rangers' last victory in the AIB club championship was nine years ago and their reputation has suffered somewhat following defeat in the last two finals. There is a ready acknowledgment of the difficulty of the task confronting the Cork side in tomorrow's semi-final in Portlaoise, but equally an awareness that at this level there is a thin line between success and failure.

Interestingly, on the way to their sixth title in 1994, against Castlebar Mitchels, Nemo defeated the side which now stands between them and a third consecutive final appearance. And, those still involved - the few still active and those on the management side - will easily recall how close they came to losing to Errigal Ciarán in the semi-final on that occasion. Equally, Tyrone remember how near they came to qualifying for their first final.
