Absence of Leahy will prove a huge loss to Chríost Rí
Leahy is currently serving a suspension for a straight red card offence and will be an enormous loss to the Capwell side.
Brendans, who pick from a full squad, were hugely impressive in defeating a highly rated Coláiste Choilm by five points in the Round Robin series with Luke Quinn, Michael O’Donoghue and Kieran O’Leary most impressive.
The Cork college who defeated Coláiste Choilm to capture the county title will include the impressive Jonathan O’Sullivan, Ray Keating, Jonathan Lane, Chris Murphy and Paul Kerrigan in their ranks, all of whom should ensure Chríost Rí should advance.
Champions Coláiste na Sceilige face a tricky quarter-final against South Limerick Colleges at Abbeyfeale tomorrow.
The South Kerry school will field a very strong team which will include Christopher O’Driscoll, Gearóid O’Sullivan and the highly impressive Paul O’Connor.
Despite the talents of Stephen Garvey, Liam Murphy, Owen Ryan and Maurice O’Connell, the Kerry outfit are favoured to advance.
Douglas Community School won’t find it easy against an ever improving ISK side in Macroom tomorrow. Mark O’Callaghan, Eoin Cadogan, Killian Murphy, Alan Barry, Stephen Bermingham and Stephen Moylan will spearhead their challenge for a semi-final place.
But ISK, with Darren O’Sullivan, Aidan O’Sullivan, Raymond O’Connor, Eoin O’Mahony and James O’Reilly are likely to win.
Flannans footballers look to follow suit when they play Dingle CBS in Glin tomorrow. Dingle were crushed by ISK 2-12 to 0-5 in their previous round and despite the best efforts of Enna Ó Flatharta, Tomás Mac tSíthigh and Seán Ruiséal, will hardly have improved sufficiently to deny the Ennis College.
