Moylan goal decisive for Douglas’s history makers

In the end it took a quality goal from corner-forward Steve Moylan to win it and after victories over fancied Bishopstown and Glen Rovers it was a title Douglas richly deserved and one that thrilled coach Matt Twomey.

“This is a massive day for the club. We’ve had five tough games in five weeks and we’ve really had to do it the hard way. Blackrock surprised us last week with the aggressiveness of their play. We knew we had to up the tempo, get the ball in quickly to our speedy front line, but in the conditions, that was easier said than done.
