Páirc Uí Chaoimh revamp
The uncovered stand seating section which accommodates 10,000 spectators is to be completely refitted with ultramodern bucket seats as installed in Croke Park. This seating will be fitted at a cost of €400,000.
This ambitious project will be completed by February 2005 in time for the start of the National Hurling and Football League competitions.
Cork County Board chairman Mr Jim Forbes said that the development would enhance the aesthetic quality of Cork’s biggest stadium, built in 1976. “It will improve the comfort for our supporters and the overall image of Pairc Ui Chaoimh. “All other major GAA stadia have installed modern bucket seats so it is important that we go down that road.”
