Tompkins meets his match at the altar

LARRY TOMPKINS finally met his match at the weekend, as his long-time partner Orla Fegan joined Cork’s All-Ireland-winning football captain at the altar.

Tompkins’ wedding in Cork was celebrated by a veritable who’s who of sporting heroes past and present.

“Show me your friends, and I’ll tell you what you are,” RTÉ veteran Jimmy Magee told over 300 guests at Cork’s Jurys Hotel. And it wasn’t just his Cork football colleagues who came to share in the couple’s day to remember. GAA managers and players, from Meath’s Sean Boylan to ex-Donegal star Martin McHugh, Kerry’s Eoin Liston and present hurler of the year Seán Óg Ó hAilpín were all present - as was GAA president Sean Kelly. Cork County Board chairman Jim Forbes was there, as well as footballers Anthony Lynch, Eoin Sexton, Graham Canty and Nicholas Murphy.
