Laois aim to beat qualifier hoodoo

EVEN in the immediate aftermath of their defeat to Dublin, Laois were talking bullishly about their determination to revive their season in the qualifiers.

History however, would seem to be very much against them.

In the four years since the back door system was introduced, no provincial runner-up has managed to reach an All-Ireland semi-final.
