Galvin ban is cut short by board
Galvin, suspended for six months following incidents in a club game for Finuge in November, has been reinstated following an appeal to the North Kerry Board.
He received 24 and 12-week bans with the punishments to run concurrently. The latter ban has now been served while the 24-week ban, was double the minimum suspension which the board could have issued in such circumstances.
Having 13 weeks of that suspension served, Galvin wrote to the Board asking them to consider his reinstatement. The Executive of the Board recommended to a full delegate meeting of the North Kerry Board on Thursday night that he be reinstated forthwith and this was passed unanimously.
It means the All-star can return to club and county football immediately and could be in the panel for tonight's clash with Offaly in Tralee.
