Colman’s and Coláistí Na Déise coast home
Kevin Dineen slotted over a point for Colman’s in the first minute and they were never headed after that, picking off scores with ease. On top in every line, the north Cork side added points by Shane Cotter and Alan O’Connor before disaster struck Chríost Rí in the eighth minute.
A high dropping ball into the city side’s square rolled loose to goalkeeper Eric Kennedy, whose despairing attempt to kick clear ended in the net. With Cotter and Mark O’Connor dominant at midfield for Colman’s, and Padraig Cotter a powerful presence in the rearguard, the Capwell school were under the cosh for the rest of the half, and trailed by 12 points (1-9 to 0-0) at the break.
