THE GAA’s Central Council will have a players’ representative on the committee within weeks, GAA president Sean Kelly has revealed.

Council rubber-stamped the historic move on Saturday, ensuring inter-county players will have a role in key Association decision in the future - such as the opening up of Croke Park.

Croke Park officials will seek nominations from each inter-county panel, with Mr Kelly insisting that an independent body would be drafted in for the voting process.
