New management on the cards

THE victory of the Cork hurlers over Clare in yesterday’s Munster SHC semi-final may deflect the spotlight from the championship exit of the county’s footballers in Roscommon, but indications point to a new football management team next season.

As is the norm in Cork when a team drops out of the championship and the term of office of the coach and selectors ends, a new management group is put in place.

The one exception of course is that if a team wins an All-Ireland title, they are automatically re-elected, provided the members of the winning management team want to stay on board.
