By Therese O’Callaghan
CHARLEVILLE are through to the All-Ireland senior colleges camogie semi-final but were made fight all the way by an unyielding Fermoy side in Saturday’s Munster Final at Glanworth. The winners stuttered early on and were thankful when Marie Watson’s 30 yard free ended in the back of the net. Her side retired at the interval four points clear (1-4 to 1-0), with Fermoy’s only score coming courtesy of a penalty from the outstanding Noreen Mulcahy.
Entering the final moments five points separated the sides and it looked as if St Mary’s would romp to their fourth consecutive Munster title.
But, in a brilliant move, Marie O’Neill finished Orla Cotter’s lengthy clearance to the net, to narrow the gap to two points (1-6 to 2-1).
