Canavan hopeful of appeal victory

PETER CANAVAN remains hopeful that he will be exonerated for Tyrone’s All-Ireland SFC Qualifier against Monaghan on Saturday week.

Red Hand officials are appealing the controversial dismissal of Canavan, who was sent-off in the weekend's ill tempered Ulster SFC Final replay loss to Armagh.

"I have to be careful what I say, but what Mickey Harte said after the game was true.
