Antrim hurler Frankie McMullen dies

THE world of GAA was stunned yesterday by the sudden death of Antrim county hurler Frankie McMullen. The 29-year-old was one of four brothers who played for Dunloy in the St Patrick's Day club championship final against Cork winners Newtownshandrum.

GAA president Sean Kelly last night extended his deepest sympathy to family and friends of the Dunloy vice-captain. Mr Kelly said the sudden death "left hurling fans throughout the country in a deep state of shock and sadness".
