GAA deal-brokers revealed
Association chiefs jealously guarded their identity during the negotiations, lest they come under unnecessary outside pressures.
Stadium manager Peter McKenna was joined by PRO Danny Lynch, Connacht Council chairman Tommy Moran, and businessmen Paddy Wright, Hugh Cawley and Brendan Waters, who are members of the Croke Park management company, PCT (Páirc an Chrócaigh Teo). Ex-AIB chief Cawley chaired the four meetings in December and a deal was finalised Friday, the day after Steve Staunton's appointment as new Republic of Ireland manager.
