Super-sub Shelley breaks Ballingarry hearts

Super-sub Shelley broke Ballingarry's hearts in an epic encounter. Ballingarry were down to 14 men from the 17th minute when Liam Cahill was sent off after receiving his second yellow card.

Having 14 men took it's toll on Ballingarry, who wilted in extra-time despite heroics from Philip Ivors, Donal Shelly and 'keeper Shane Ivors.

Despite their fewer numbers, Ballingarry almost snatched victory in normal time when Philip Ivors blasted home a penalty a minute into injury time to put Ballingarry a point ahead.

Killenaule, who won their first title since 1991, were rescued by a last gasp Patrick Kerwick point to send the game into extra time.

Three goals in three minutes in extra-time illuminated this classic fixture. An Adrian Cleere goal for Ballingarry was sandwiched between the Shelley goals but 14-man Ballingarry were powerless to mount a comeback and Killenaule ran out winners by two points.
