HISTORY will not repeat itself when Cork and Tipperary come face-to-face in tomorrow's Bank of Ireland Munster SFC final at Semple Stadium.

So said Seamus McCarthy, who led the Premier County to two successive provincial deciders against the Rebels in 1993 and 1994.

"I know Cork have been installed as raging hot favourites," McCarthy said last night, "but Tipperary are very focused and I cannot see what occurred in 1993, when they scored eight points without reply at the start, happening again on this occasion."
