Kelly and Hyland goals spur Ballyboden to title

REIGNING All-Ireland ladies football club champions Ballyboden St Enda’s retained their Leinster title yesterday, with a comprehensive 2-13 to 1-4 victory over Timahoe in the final at Athy.

Goals from Dublin stars Louise Kelly and Natalia Hyland fired the capital club to an easy victory over their Laois opponents.

Elsewhere yesterday, Monaghan outfit Donaghmoyne saw off the challenge of Donegal’s St Eunan’s to capture the Ulster senior club title at Clones, 1-12 to 0-8. Donaghmoyne led by the minimum at the break, 0-5 to 0-4, but Majella Woods’ second-half goal swung the game in their favour. Catriona McConnell scored 0-8 for the Monaghan side.
