Carr despairs over referees
Carr was critical of the performance of Down official Colm Broderick at the weekend, as his side saw their promotion hopes from Division 2A all but wiped away with a defeat at the hands of Offaly.
"The standard of refereeing will drive me out of the game eventually," said a frustrated Carr, in the aftermath of his team's seven point reverse.
"I have to say I was really disappointed with some of the decisions given against us on Sunday. It wasn't the reason we lost the game Offaly were simply better than us. But it didn't help, and there was no rhyme nor reason to some of his calls."
Promotion looks unlikely now, Carr conceded, and it makes preparations for championship more difficult.
"Now it looks like we could be relying on two or three challenge games to tune up for the Connacht championship," he said.
Offaly manager Gerry Fahy had no such qualms he has a league semi-final in mind for his young team.
