CORK have omitted seven members of last year's All-Ireland-winning panel for the upcoming Allianz Hurling League campaign.

The four Newtownshandrum players - Paul Morrissey, Pat Mulcahy and Ben and Jerry O'Connor - are concentrating on their club's quest for a second All-Ireland club title.

Jonathan O'Callaghan, John Browne and Ronan McGregor are also omitted.

Cloyne's Killian Cronin and Conor Cusack - brother of goalkeeper Donal Óg - have both been called into the panel, while Kanturk goalkeeper Anthony Nash, who has impressed at minor and intermediate level, is also promoted.

Much interest will focus on the recall of Midleton's Mickey O'Connell, who opted out of inter-county hurling after the All-Ireland victory in 2004.
