No dual role for Wexford Allstar Forde

Matty Forde will concentrate exclusively on football in the upcoming National League, it emerged yesterday following a meeting between new hurling manager Seamus Murphy and football boss Pat Roe.

Murphy said he appreciated that the player would give his “full concentration” to the football team.

At the same time, he expressed the hope that he might join the hurling squad for a few training drills and possibly play some part in Wexford’s hurling championship campaign.

Forde, who won the county’s first football Allstar last year, travels to Hong Kong tomorrow for the first Allstar tour to the Orient.
