Newtown to take another step down the rocky road

IN THE eyes of most hurling pundits, the only team likely to give champions Blackrock a run for their county title this year are Newtownshandrum.

Champions of two years ago, the North Cork side brought in former Limerick senior coach Tom Ryan to guide their fortunes this year, and so far things have gone according to plan.

“This game has really caught the imagination of all hurling followers”, said Ryan. “There is a lot of talent on both teams which should guarantee a cracking contest.
